Faten Matar MBBS, MADS

After obtaining a medical degree from OVIDIUS’ Constansa in Romania and a Master’s Degree in Applied Disabilities Study from Brock University, Faten decided to pursue a career in the field of Behavioral Science and make a difference in people’s lives.
After finishing Faten's Master’s Degree in Behavioural Science, she joined L&A Educational Services Inca as an Instructor Therapist. Faten became interested in the research field and later decided to join the Autism Research Unit, with the Hospital for Sick Children located in Downtown Toronto.
Coming from a diverse, professional and cultural background Faten believes that children must be taught how to think, not what to think. It’s not just about explanation and demonstration; it’s also about inspiration.

Ying is a graduate of the Autism and Behavioural Sciences Program, and has since been very happily working with children throughout the spectrum from toddlers to older children, from non-verbal to high functioning, and everything in-between. She can be described as dedicated, playful, and as someone who genuinely enjoys the challenge of bringing out the best in the children that she works with. When not spending time with other people’s children, she is busy with her own two kids, actively involved in their schools, and teaches martial arts.
